In a row with big names - Volvo Cars, London City Airport, DHL, Total, Walmart - Lorenz will now also be listed as the winner of the Innovation Excellence Award 2022.
On March 24, 2022, three independent experts chose Lorenz as the winner of the award in the Circular Economy category. In the final round, Lorenz was able to prevail against strong competitor Shell and was pleased to receive another prestigious award on his way from a rural manufacturing company to becoming a technology leader for smart metering and as a pioneer in the circular economy sector.

The Federal Environment Ministry and the Federal Association of German Industry BDI have honored Lorenz as a national pioneer for smart metering and circular economy with one of the highest company awards in Germany.

With the German Raw Material Efficiency Prize, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy honors outstanding examples of raw material and material efficient products, processes or services as well as application-oriented research results. Under the technical leadership of the German Raw Materials Agency (DERA), up to four companies and one research institution are awarded the German Raw Materials Efficiency Prize every year.

"Key company for smart metering and digital water supply": Under the patronage of the State Minister for Digitalisation, Dorothee Bär, Lorenz recieved the renowned Digital Leader Award on 28.06.2019 in Berlin as a national digital pioneer for "Germany's best digitalisation strategy".

The jury with digitisation experts from business, science and society emphasised that Lorenz had transformed himself from a traditional manufacturing company to a pioneer in digitisation with "perseverance, the art of engineering, the will to change and innovative concepts". With the Digital Leader Award, Lorenz is ranked among other award winners from this and previous years such as Daimler, Lufthansa Innovation Hub, Axel Springer and FC Bayern Munich.

"Impressive and fascinating engineering achievements." The G*SM (Green Smart Meter) digital residential water meter was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Prize.

Environment Minister Franz Untersteller honoured the highly precise and fully connective domestic water meter with the second prize in the category "Material Efficiency" on July 16, 2019 at a ceremony in Stuttgart.

"Saving the environment and the climate with circular economy": Lorenz radio water meters are the "Product of the Year 2019" of the MOVECO Innovation Award within the Interreg Programme of the European Union (EU).

An international jury of circular economy experts from the project partner countries selected Lorenz as the winner in the category "Medium Enterprises". Markus Achleitner, Minister of Economic Affairs of Upper Austria, handed over the prize during a festive ceremony at the MOVECO conference in Linz.

The German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) and the regional network offices for sustainability strategies (RENN) awarded Lorenz the "Project Sustainability 2019" award for entrepreneurial responsibility in practice and leading technological solutions for tomorrow's water supply. This award is given to initiatives and projects that "have a forward-looking impact on sustainable development and contribute to the implementation of the United Nations' Global Development Goals". The award ceremony will take place on 23 September 2019 in the Stadthalle Fürth.

A "smart" production system for "smart" and high-quality measuring instruments: This convinced the jury of "Allianz Industrie 4.0". Lorenz is officially one of "100 Landmarks for Industry 4.0".

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and the VDMA thereby honour the development and production of cutting-edge smart meters and the associated ultra-modern production facilities at the Schelklingen site as a groundbreaking industrial achievement for high-quality products Made in Germany.

Consistent environment protection and IIoT go hand in hand at Lorenz. This is why the company is not only awarded among the frontrunners of digitization, but also as one of "100 companies for resource efficiency" - and almost unique with this combination.

The Environment Ministry and leading industry associations awarded Lorenz for a far-reaching recycling concept that significantly reduces material usage and ecological impacts, maintaining competitiveness of high-quality materials.

Quality, reliability, sustainability: Lorenz lives the "Mittelstand"-values and is actively committed to its responsibility for people and environment. This is not only morally imperative, but has always been the basis for lasting business success.

Lorenz was awarded the quality certificate "Ethics in Business" for its exemplary corporate responsibility. The award is based on an examination conducted by the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen.

In recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of research and development, Lorenz was awarded the VR Innovation Prize of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken Banking Group.

The award was handed over personally by the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg together with TV presenter Gundula Gause (heute journal).
